Concrete Care Tips - How to Take Care of Your Concrete

IEI General Contractors is a skilled commercial builder. Having completed many projects in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, IEI has extensive experience in working with concrete and masonry in a variety of climates and settings.

Concrete is beneficial to sidewalks, driveways, and curbs, as it enhances the appearance of your construction project. In addition, concrete provides many years of service with minimum maintenance.

In order to maintain a durable concrete finish throughout its service life, you should carry out the following recommendations.

1. FIRST WINTER
      A. Do not allow snow and ice to accumulate. Keep it cleaned off.
      B. Refrain from the use of de-icing chemicals (salt or calcium chloride) for snow and ice removal. Sand can be used for traction.

2. ANNUAL MAINTENANCE (Precautionary)
      A. Concrete should be resealed every year (late summer or early fall) for protection from the winter elements.

3. WARNING
      A. Never use de-icers containing fertilize ingredients such as ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate. Concrete should be protected from exposure to liquid fertilizer systems used for lawn treatment.

Please notify your maintenance staff of these restrictions.

We warrant our work for one year after installation. However, if you do not follow these guidelines, we will not be responsible for any problems that occur.
